I am dying to try these cookies my friend Amy over at Cozy Walls concocted the other day with her niece- not only do they sound delicious, they look adorable. A perfect little autumn treat. The whole recipe is right here, y'all.

Chalkboard Typography
Recently design student Natalie Krick used Rose Bredl as a backdrop for her hand-drawn typography, and we love the results! Natalie used ice creams from local shop Jeni's (delicious) and created a mock wedding dessert menu (such a good idea). You can see more of her amazing chalkboard typography here.
ps- check out those garden roses!

wintry good eats
So I felt like posting some delicious wintry recipes would be a balm for the cold and dreary weather, and I love the idea of a clementine marmalade (especially with whiskey in it). You can find the entire recipe here. It looks involved, but well worth the end result.
This recipe for Michigan Pasties, reminds me of my early college days and is the perfect lunch or quick dinner treat on grey days like today.
My friend Amy posted this recipe for shortbread with pear glaze and pecorino cheese and I am dying to try it. It looks like the perfect accompaniment to a hot cup of tea.
Hope this warmed you up!

Oh Delicious: Autumn Pairing
I stumbled on both of these recipes in the past week and thought they would make the perfect fare for an autumn party- a cocktail featuring not only apple brandy but maple syrup, and my friend Amy's bourbon spice pumpkin whoopie pies. *prepare yourself*
The Sidewalker
Adapted from Damon Boelte, Prime Meats
Makes 1 cocktail
1 ounce apple brandy (such as Laird's)
¾ ounce lemon juice
½ ounce maple syrup
¼ ounce apple cider vinegar
Cold wheat beer (such as Hefeweizen or Weihenstephaner hefeweissbier)
Lemon wedge, to garnish
Pour the brandy, lemon juice, maple syrup and vinegar into a cocktail shaker. Add ice and shake. Strain the cocktail into a chilled, tall glass and top with beer. Garnish with a lemon wedge.
If you want to go all the way... you can find autumn themed whoopie pie pans here.7.26.2011

Jeni's Rx
There is more than love in the air around February 14th... and the remedy is Jeni's Influenza Sorbet. A delightful combination of cayenne pepper, citrus fruits and honey- this concoction is strangely exactly what I want to reach for when feeling sick. We love Jeni's at Rose because she's just down the block, which makes Influenza Sorbet a cold remedy within reach!4.26.2009
Desire this.

With the gorgeous weather we've been having, I felt the need to search my favorite foodie blogs for a good summer-y recipe and voila! Flagrante Delicia came through with a recipe for meringues with strawberry ice cream. The recipe provides directions for strawberry sorbet, but you could also just buy some delicious strawberry rose petal ice cream from Jenis, too. Enjoy!
Wouldn't these be the cutest treats at a summer wedding, too!?
