5 years...

We celebrated the incredible blessing of being in business in the Short North for 5 years with a lovely Mother Earth themed party, complete with floral crowns and goddess attire. Valerie made the most delicious party finger foods, and Sharon painted the lovely saying onto our back wall. Thanks Nicole for all of the photos- and thanks everyone who came! The biggest thank you goes to all of you who have supported Rose Bredl in so many ways through the past 5 years- we wouldn't be here without you!

Mary has always pushed us at Rose Bredl to take our inspirations from all the wonderful places we find it: pinterest, the blogosphere, martha stewart etc, and turn these inspirations into something unique to our own purposes. "Thats so Rose Bredl" has become our favorite phrase.

We've officially been in business for three years in our happy home, the short north. A big "thank you" goes out to all of those who have and continue to support us, we can't thank you enough.

anniversary

Happy 9 year anniversary to Mary and Patrick! What a beautiful couple you make, I love the simple, elegant style of their wedding, very Rose Bredl. Mary says she loved her dress (long sleeves- so Royal Wedding) and veil but hated her hair, and that she wanted peonies but they were already out of season. The cake was a Martha Stewart recreation, isn't it gorgeous?? And my favorite detail? Mary says "May 18th has rained for the last 20 years but not that day, the sun shone and it was the most amazing day of my life!!!" Here's to many more years of rainy days to come, it looks like you two will weather the storms well!

mom:

There is no one like mom. She's gorgeous, smart, loving, caring, giving, perfectly imperfect, and downright crazy for putting up with us. There are so many fun things happening at Rose Bredl this coming week; weddings, a gallery hop, the Women's Fund event and more. But the thing we're trying to remember is who put us here in the first place, the person who always supports us: mom.

Some good ways to do that:

PS- Mary's mom (on the left) as a young girl. Isn't she beautiful? I love that she and Mary share the same smile (it IS a gorgeous smile). My mom is on the right- I wish I could have ever rocked pigtails and looked as cute as she does.

Hi I thought I would introduce myself to my readers.   I am Mary Ernst McColgan a flower shop owner in Short North.   I should also introduce the dogs.  Savannah is the store greeter who has made more friends in the short north than most people.   Logan is our 6 month old who shows up on weekends to say hi.   I created the blog to let readers know about all  of my favorite things: flowers,  designers and products.
