Wednesday night Rose Bredl fans had the opportunity to learn all about container gardening with herbs and succulents from GreenSpace designer Jay Logan. I learned so many things about the planting and caring of potted plants (thrill, fill, spill anyone?)- and everyone had a great time. We were also blessed to have photographer Emily B in attendance, and she was kind enough to share with us lovely photos of the event (I loved her potted succulents, bottom right.) I can hardly wait to attend the next event, Thank you Mary and Jay!
We hope everyone who attended had an amazing time last night at the potting event (we did!) We'll be posting photos of all the fun tomorrow. In the meantime, enjoy these gorgeous flowers in a sweet summery setting. The fruit jellies are from Trader Joe's (the pink nail polish is Essie "cute as a button"
Catch everyone's eye when you're out on the town for your bachelorette party in this stunning silk dress from J.Crew. Make sure all of your favorite girlfriends are there (to see you looking so good) by sending them the cutest bachelorette bash invites from Cheerup Cherup. And the best part? Emily B photography is giving you a chance to enter to win one of two different styles of invitations! Be sure to visit her blog and read all about the details, here.
Speaking of weddings- we were over the moon to see one of our bride's featured on 100 Layer Cake last week. Laura had a beautiful personal style and it was a joy to work with her here at Rose Bredl, we are so happy to see her wedding as an example to all brides on such a wonderful source for wedding inspiration. You can see the entire article, here.
Mary made these simple and gorgeous centerpieces for our Easter dinner, I couldn't resist snapping a few photos of the process- enjoy :) (Starring ranunculus and some small dining room table appropriate campo pots.)
Celebrate! The new K.Hall lotions are here (we love the new tube and the packaging is gorgeous!) Printed lavender candles just arrived as well- we think they'd make great mother's day gifts (I mean, I would happily except one even though I'm not a mom)

"Might I have a bit of earth?" A bit of earth, to make things grow- what a small and simple wish for one of the greatest pleasures in this life. We've been blessed with a beautiful world, and today (Earth day) is a day to remember that it doesn't belong to us- we are stewards of this great gift we've been given, and need to take care of it for the generations to come.
PS- to celebrate today, Rose Bredl is offering buy one get one free herbs today. So stop in and smell the roses, and pick up something green!

Easter is Sunday- a day I look forward to even more than Christmas; Campo De Fiori Bunnies, muscari, moss, grass, eggs, hyacinth, spring, renewal.
We know not everyone has a handy potting bench like these (though believe me, I reallly wish I did), so we're offering for you to come do the dirty work in our shop. One week from today we're having our spring potting event at Rose Bredl- this year we'll be sharing great ideas for container gardening with succulents and herbs. You can bring your favorite pot or buy one of ours- just be sure to come ready to have a good time! You can find out more information about the event on our facebook page, here.

Go ahead, have a white wedding! Bridesmaids will (actually) love being in your wedding if you let them wear this origami pleat gown by BHLDN; have them carry a bouquet of anemones and white garden roses like this one from Rose Bredl, and everyone will be happy ever after.
Last Friday, Rose Bredl was blessed with a visit from Emily Burlingame of Emily B Photography and Alaina Cherup of Cheer Up, Cherup wedding invitations(though that's another post). Let us just say- her photos are absolutely stunning. They're intimate, touching, ethereal and just plain lovely. We love how well she captured the store. Any brides out there still searching for a photographer, we think her photos speak for themselves! Her website is still in the works- but we will be sure to keep you posted!
They're here! Fresh herbs, just in time for the weekend (and a sunny day). The store smells overwhelmingly delicious right now with all of the green goodness. According to the weather forecast in Ohio we have many days of rain ahead, so I'll be putting some of these guys in my kitchen window to bring the spring inside until the sun returns.
I love that the sun is trying to come out today- and I love this illustration by Kris Atomic: warm spring colors, beautiful botanicals...and a smile on a pretty girls face. Actually, come to think of it... I enjoy all things Kris Atomic.
So this pretty picture inspired us to make our own Strawberry Blondes for gallery-hop last weekend.
1 oz strawberry liqueur
1 teaspoon sugar
1 whole strawberry
Put crushed ice into glass (we love the effect of mason jar as cocktail glass). Pour strawberry liqueur over ice, add Ginger Ale to fill. Add strawberry for decoration. Feel free to vary the amount of strawberry liqueur depending on how much alcohol you like in your cocktail.
Whether its the Short North Wedding Walk, or just a day of wedding planning- keeping comfortable and organized is key. We are die hard fans of MiH's oversize shirts (available @) pair with leggings, a scarf and hunter wellies (available @) and you will be good to go. Keep all of your vendors information handy with Russell and Hazel's 3 ring binder and wedding planning booklet.
What would a wedding walk be without some good eats? We are so excited to be featuring the delicious work of Charley Sous Chef and Ginger&Birch at the upcoming walk. Even if you aren't a bride, you'll want to stop by and check out the talent of these amazing girls!
